A recommendation from staff -

"Recently my son had an opportunity to interview for a job he really wanted.  It was a job which was going to have quite a bit of competition due to the salary and and opportunities it would present.  Needless to say he wanted to nail the interview.

I asked you if you could take a few minutes and offer me any advice I could pass on to him about how to prepare.   You kindly took the time to offer advice on some great questions he could ask and ways to “sell” himself so they would know he was exactly what they were looking for.

I shared all your advice/suggestions with my son.    The interview day came and he felt it went really well and they told him that they would be making a decision in a few days.   They called him the next day and offered him the job!   They said it was a difficult decision between him and some other very qualified individuals but the deciding factor was how prepared, put together and polished he was.

I just want to say THANK YOU!   I believe it was your advice that helped him to stand out above the others."

Join us for our 3rd Open House on December 1 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM.  Let's celebrate our success and usher in the Season of WOW with lights and merry making.  Check the calendar for details.

We're celebrating our 2nd Anniversary on March 23, 2016

do-over.me is celebrating our 2nd Anniversary today!  The past two years have been incredibly busy.  We have welcomed over 200 people into our offices at 1141 Commerce Drive in Geneva.  Some of these individuals have been clients; all are friends.  They have participated in a myriad of different workshops, book discussions, improv classes and other programming.

We have served over 36 different adults as clients, supporting them as they navigate a new road forward after a significant life transition.  Many of those people have succeeded in reaching their goals. These are our flying PIGs and include, Mary E, Charlotte C, Alicia T, Mary Z, Paul G, Lisa S, Renae L, Dave B, John F, Camille S,  Jeff F, John M, Omar M, Michael G, and Kevin K.  Others are still working with us.  Every day they strive to move forward with joy and intention to their chosen goal utilizing many of the different supports that do-over.me offers.

do-over.me is a cutting edge concept.  We supply support to adults in transition that includes the development of both hard and soft skills.  This is a safe space where individuals can find the tools that they need to succeed - however they define success.

Transitions are left deliberately vague because they can include career changes, health scares, divorce, death, empty nesting, even something as simple as transitioning from who you are today, to who you want to be tomorrow.  The truth is that we are all growing and changing.  do-over.me actively promotes the growth mindset that we all should adopt to be the very best we can be,

Take a minute to visit our web site, especially our calendar.  We have many interesting programs coming up.  Which one is of interest to you?  Pick one and stop over to experience the exciting and ever evolving world of do-over.me

We will end our second year, as we did our first, in the black.  Not much in the black, but at least in the black.  That is because of the continuing support of the community.  Every donation, however small helps.  You can donate on line by clicking here.

Thank you for your continued support.  Stop by to see us soon.

Butterfly Adoption Party - July 12

- do-over.me partners with Butterflies Everywhere and Kimmer’s Ice Cream to host Butterfly Adoption Party on Sunday, July 12 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at 1141 Commerce Drive in Geneva.

This is a community event to build awareness of the challenges of transformation and the need for support.  Whether you’re a butterfly or a person, everyone deserves a do-over.  Monarch butterflies are losing their fight to migrate, reproduce and survive because their habitat is being killed off at a rate of acres per day.  Vicki Serrato of Butterflies Everywhere will provide a brief explanation of the plight of monarch butterflies and why raising healthy butterflies and ensuring the right food for them is critical for their survival.  Cynthia Wade will provide some information on how adults in transition can be supported by the programs offered through do-over.me.

Children and adults who adopt a butterfly will receive an adoption certificate and will have the opportunity to make a wish and release their very own butterfly into the world.  They will learn how to track the general migration through the central US to Mexico.  Everyone will enjoy Kimmer’s Ice Cream Sandwishes!  And there will be a coloring contest for the children.   The cost to participate in this event is $25.  Participants must register and pay in advance to ensure that there are sufficient butterflies and ice cream for everyone.  Only paying participants will receive a butterfly, adoption papers and ice cream.  Additional ice cream will be available for purchase.

This event is held out doors.  In the event of rain, it will be rescheduled.  If you have provided contact information when registering, every attempt will be made to notify you if the event is rescheduled. You can also check back here and on Facebook for announcements.

Now working with college students.

Whether you are a fresh grad or have a year or two to go, let do-over.me support you to position yourself in the best possible place to get that great job offer that you have been dreaming of.  We can work with you virtually.  We've worked with

Andrew Masters, Office Manager at Fabbri Sausage Mfg Co

"As a career coach, Cynthia does more than make your resume compelling and effective. She asks you tough questions. She gets to know and understand you. She calls you before an interview and goes over each detail of the play-by-play like a coach before a championship boxing match. She does all this to evoke the very best you have to offer."

Pat Bannon, Inside Account Manager at Waste Management

"Cynthia will take the time to truly understand what it is that makes you valuable, and then help you put that in writing. In my case, I needed my resume to really convey the breadth of experience I knew I had, but was struggling to put on paper. The end result is a resume that I can proudly show to any potential employer, and a sense of confidence that my resume will get me noticed. I highly recommend Cynthia's service to anyone who would like to look their best. Cynthia will get you there."

Timothy Lipman,Admission Counselor and Event Coordinator at Illinois Institute of Technology

I approached Cynthia for help with my resume and general career assistance. I recently graduated college and was having a hard time figuring out what to do. She was very helpful in talking with me on the phone and helping me to think about the future and what I can do to lay the ground work for my career. She took a look at my resume and made great suggestions that I implemented, after discussing how I wanted to market myself. After talking about career searching and improving my resume, I applied to many places. She helped me with the next step as well, by doing interview prep, such as what to expect at interview, and some really useful tips to use to make the best impression. At the end of this process, I was offered a full time job and I would like to say Cynthia definitely helped to make that a reality. She helped to prepare me for what would happen at each step in the process and what to expect, helping calm my nerves. I would definitely say Cynthia Wade is an expert in her field and is very friendly and helpful!l

Let us support you too!

Lombardi Time -

Basically, it works like this: Lombardi expected his players and coaches to be 15 minutes early to meetings and practices. Not on time — 15 minutes early. If they weren’t, he considered them “late.” Thus, it came to be called Lombardi time.

do-over.me operates on Lombardi time.  We start and end our meetings and events on the time that they are called for, not 15 minutes late to allow for late arrivals.  We won't lock the door, but you may miss something important if you're late.  We don't go back and repeat ourselves.

At do-over.me we are always up and ready for early arrivals, at least 15 minutes before the actual start of the meeting or event.  Please feel free to arrive on Lombardi time, have a cup of coffee and talk a bit before the meeting or event gets started.

For more information on Lombardi time visit http://www.forbes.com/sites/dalebuss/2012/12/11/packers-lambeau-field-clock-reaches-back-to-lombardi-time/
