The Power of Support in Transitions

Most people do not like change, and I’m one of them. However, life sometimes has big surprises, and we have to do things differently in order to reach our goals at work or in life. Change is unavoidable, but how you go through this process can make a huge difference in the final outcome. You have to do “it” (the change) yourself, but you do not need to do it BY YOURSELF, and this is where’s Guiding Lights volunteer mentor program comes into place, as it offers clients a great resource in their journey to reach the future they want.

This program was conceptualized from this quote by Albert Schweitzer: “Sometimes our light goes out, but is blown again into flame by an encounter with another human being. Each of us owes the deepest thanks to those who have rekindled this inner light.”

Guiding Lights at was created as a way to provide that extra measure of support to all during those difficult times of change. As a volunteer in this program, you can become a much-needed source of support to people who would welcome a partner that can be there when you need somebody to keep you going. This unique relationship is designed to help illuminate the innate potential for positive change in people and provide practical tools that can be used by all in their career and life journey.

Recently I became involved with the Guiding Lights program at because I believe in the power of support and accountability in times of changes. And this experience has enriched my life in many different ways. I learned about different cultures and experiences and improved mu questioning and listening skills; I also had great joy in supporting another person in realizing their dream. Having somebody who can pick you up when you need encouragement and keep you on track to reach goals makes a huge difference in a person’s long-term success. You can have this same experience by getting involved in our Guiding Lights program.
