As we slide headlong into the holiday season, I invite you to consider the many different holidays that are celebrated at this season of the year and challenge you to learn about one, just one, that you are not familiar with.
Whether Halloween, a night of masks and mischief, the Hispanic tradition of The Day of the Dead on November 1, the ancient Roman rites of Saturnalia, celebrated between December 17 and 23; the traditional Hindu festival of lights, Divali, which begins on November 3, Hanukkah the celebration of religious freedom which is celebrated this year between November 27 and December 5, Boxing Day or Kwanzaa…all these holidays offer opportunities to learn and celebrate; to really connect with others.
And isn’t that what we are all trying to do?
Reach out. Connect.
