Well, maybe it's not quite that easy, but I find that when I don't ask, I rarely get what I want and when I do, well the odds certainly increase in my favor.
So remember, as your interview comes to an end, "Ask for the job" or whatever it is that is next in the natural evolution of the process.
And try asking directly for other things you need and/or want, i.e. help with cleaning the house, making dinner, putting away groceries, making walking a part of your daily experience. You'll find most people are eager to help. They just don't know what to do. So ask them. Specifically. Directly.
You might be pleasantly surprised at the response.
