This and that and other things on my mind

We  a great discussion last night at the monthly Biz Books discussion at the Geneva Library.  Our featured book is Nice Girls Don't Get the Corner Office: Unconscious Mistakes Women Make that Sabotage their Careers by Lois P. Frankel, Ph.D.  Did you know that within one year of their graduation, women earn 8% less than their male colleagues?  That is just one of the many reasons why this book, written in 2004 and revised in 2014 is still relevant today.  It's important reading for women and for the men that love them.   If you missed it, we're repeating it at do-over.me on Tuesday, March 22 at 6:00 PM.  You don't need to have read the book to participate.

I realize I'm a little late to the party, but I was catching up on my Sunday Tribunes over the weekend and found Mary Schmich's article on the death of Harper Lee and the power of her only novel, To Kill a Mockingbird.  I discovered this quote.  It's perfect for do-over.me.

Real courage is when you know you’re licked before you begin, but you begin anyway and see it through no matter what.”
— Harper Lee, To Kill a Mockingbird
