Do You Want the Corner Office?

In 2004, Lois P Frankel, Ph. D. wrote Nice Girls Don't Get the Corner Office: 101 Unconscious Mistakes Women Make that Sabotage Their Careers.  Unfortunately she felt the need to not only revise it in 2014, but to also update it and add a few new mistakes we're making.  We've made progress.  We're still have a ways to go.  Frankel cites the following in her new introduction:

On average in the US, Caucasian  women earn 77% of what men earn for doing the same jobs, but African American women earn only 69% and Latinas only 58%.Within just one year o completing college, women are earning 8% less than the men with whom they graduated, and by mid-career that number increases to more than 20%.

In honor of Women's Month, we've chosen Frankel's book as our discussion focus for the month of March.  Please join us on Tuesday, March 8 at 7:00 PM at the Geneva Public Library, Wednesday, March 9 at 11:30 AM over lunch at do-over.me or Tuesday, March 22 at 6:00 PM over a drink, aso at do-over.me to participate in this important discussion.  Although directed at women, the mistakes presented in this book and the coaching tips presented to neutralize them, can also apply to men.  This discussion is for both genders.

You don't need to have read the book to participate.  Handouts will be provided.

Mistake #21: Just because you can do something, doesn’t mean you should do it.
