June 12, 2014 - In the Beginning

Today is the birthday of the do-over.me web site.  It's been under construction for several weeks now.  I've spent hours and hours pouring over this, trying to create the content, the photos, the look.  I had a clear idea in my mind of what I wanted.  I wanted it to be bright and colorful and filled with friendly faces and beautiful images.  I wanted you, the viewers to be left with a happy feeling, hopeful for the future and confident in your own ability to begin again.  And this time, with the help of do-over.me, to succeed.

do-over.me, as you can see by this web site is a new concept.  It is a not-for-profit, 501 (c)(3) pending.  We envision a different kind of place.  A place where adults (18+) in all types of life transition will be supported in a positive, uplifting manner.  A place where the mood is light and smiles are the norm.  A place where we believe in each other and also in ourselves.  AI place where we can both give and be given to.

do-over.me is an interactive center and only works when we all do.  We've got a good start, but there is much more to do.  While we await word from the IRS on our 501 (c)(3) status, we need to begin to raise awareness in the TriCities area, along the Fox River from Elgin to Aurora.  We need to share the good news among the people who need these resources the most.  We need to build our brand and invite our community to share their resources.  We need to locate and create a physical space in which we can come together to learn, to work and to grow.

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has."  ~ Margaret Mead

As we begin this journey together, please don't be a stranger.  Reach out and let us know how we are doing and what more we can do to be of service.  Together, we will create, nurture and grow do-over.me into an amazing community resource that enriches many lives.

Come join us!  Let's take this journey together.
